Support CECAS & Climate Action in West Cork – GoFundMe Launched! |
Green Skibbereen is excited to be launching a GoFundMe fundraiser to help meet CECAS’s capital investment costs for 2023. This will help increase our capacity for hosting events and enhance our financial sustainability for the coming years.
The €5,000 we hope to raise here – with your help – will go towards investment in areas of catering and event hosting. We’re not financially sustainable yet, but we will get there, and 2023 is looking very good so far. We would be hugely grateful for any support you can give. Click here to donate!
‘Low-Carbon Homes for the Future’ – Wednesday February 8th!
CECAS is delighted to host this event initiated by local charity Carbery Housing Association as part of the ‘RED WoLF’ EU-funded project, which is installing a cutting edge low-carbon heating system in a number of homes in Cork. Come along to find out more about this new system and meet the other partners in the project who will be visiting from the UK, France and Luxembourg. For updates, email: redwolf@carberyhousing.eu
Invitation to New Prospective Board Members
Green Skibbereen is looking to expand its board of directors in 2023 and is inviting expressions of interest from anyone with a passion for sustainability and knowledge and skills that they feel could contribute to Green Skibbereen’s mission to make CECAS a regional centre for raising awareness and sharing information about climate action and sustainability. We are particularly keen to recruit board members living locally with practical and technical skills, who can contribute time to assisting with fundraising and projects at CECAS. We are also looking for board members with a strong public profile, who can help amplify our message to a wider audience. The Board of Directors of Green Skibbereen meets for 2 hours each month, and attendance at these meetings is the minimum requirement of the role. Ideally, directors will give additional time to support the work of the organisation, in the region of 2 days a month for work on projects, committees and outreach. A trial period will be put in place to make sure new directors are a good fit for the role and vice versa. All appointments to the Board will be made in line with our company rules.
If you are interested, please send your CV along with a cover letter outlining why you are interested and what you feel you can contribute to info@cecas.ie by the 31st of January 2023. Green Skibbereen is committed to equal opportunities and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
