Launch: Friends of Myross Wood – 13th March 2022

This is aimed at anyone who is interested in helping us restore this native woodland in the heart of West Cork. There is much to do, and we are keen to bring together people with energy, skills, interests or knowledge of woodlands, and who have some time to regularly volunteer at CECAS. We are aiming to plant 1500 trees on the day – so all help will be greatly appreciated. We will also be giving away free native trees!

The day will involve:

11.00 – Coffee and Launch of ‘Friends of Myross Wood’. Introduction to Restoration Plan
11.30 – Guided Walks through the woodland
13.00 – Lunch
14.00 – Practical Outdoor Meitheal Activities

– Native Hedge Planting
– Establishing a Tree Nursery

16.00 – Gather for a Fire Circle, warm up, and chat about developing the ‘Friends of’ group and its work. Because of the nature of the day, this event is suitable for over 12s only and please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Tools will be provided (but bring a spade if you can)..
